Peter Pan
By David Grieg after JM Barrie

This Peter Pan was set in Victorian Edinburgh and centred on the construction of the Forth Bridge.
The set recreates the classic view of the Forth Bridge in extreme false-perspective.
The bridge structures shift during the flight to Neverland, disrupting the perspective to create a landscape of massive, overgrown asymmetric forms resembling an underwater shipwreck.
A further move conjures up an intact pirate ship.
Throughout the show these structures also provide launch and landing pads for the dynamic bungee flying devised by Upswing Aerial Arts.
“John Tiffany’s production for the National Theatre of Scotland is spectacular. The great bridge is brilliantly realised in Laura Hopkins’s design and revolves to create the pirate ship.”
